BUILDING THE DREAM BOUTIQUE GYM

When Steff Milne set out to build her very own boutique gym, she had one vision in mind: a small gym for her local community, but with one key difference: access to premium quality equipment, enabling members to train effectively and safely, in a welcoming, private space.
 

Steff, a personal trainer for over a decade, called upon her experience of working with many different strength brands throughout her career when considering commercial gym equipment suppliers for The Lifting Club Gym – but only one name came to mind: “Because my gym is open 24/7 and is often unmanned, I knew that I needed really sturdy hardware. I’ve used Watson Gym Equipment before, and I knew that this was the brand that I wanted in my gym.”

LIMITED SPACE: NOT A PROBLEM

Steff reached out to Watson, with the brief of creating a complete training environment from the ground up. The project involved much more than simply supplying gym equipment — it was about understanding how best to use the limited space available, to work for its members and then bring the vision to life.
 
From the layout and positioning of the equipment, through to the custom machine finishes – and everything in between – every element was planned and considered to create a boutique gym that felt practical, professional and built for all levels of training. The aim was to maximise the space while creating distinct areas for different styles of training, ensuring that the club would work just as well for experienced lifters as it would for members who are starting out on their fitness journey.

NO REQUEST TOO BIG OR SMALL

Watson were even able to custom-build shortened versions of Steff’s chosen strength machines, enabling them to fit under The Lifting Club’s low ceilings – “no other equipment providers would have allowed me to do that and have been a supportive in the whole process”, added Steff.
