After purchasing the best American made two inch barbell I could find I remained unsatisfied so I continued my research. I came across Watson Gym Equipment and decided to purchase the Animal Thick Grip Bar. If I would have known about Watson Gym previously this would have been my first and only purchase- this bar has replaced all my other barbells (1 inch and two inch). The construction is solid, the metal is high quality, smooth sleeve rotation and the heavy diamond knurling allows for a better grip when executing pulling movements.

An extremely high quality bar, which I can thoroughly recommend for heavy squats. The 2″ cross-section is comfortable across the shoulders, and the knurling and powder coat are perfect. So good, I’ve just made another order and upgraded all of my bars to Watson….

This is not your typical thick bar. This bar is akin to a quality powerlifting bar – only thicker and heavier. I went for the two inch version and it weighs around 25kg. It feels absolutely solid. The knurling is serious and the sleeves rotate smoothly. This bar has completely replaced my standard one inch bar.
