The Watson Linear Hack Squat — our take on one of the most effective quad-dominant movements, expertly engineered to deliver maximum performance in a space-efficient design.
Built around a fixed 45-degree track to ensure a smooth and stable movement, the carriage glides effortlessly on linear bearings, offering an ultra smooth feel even under serious load.
Despite its heavy-duty construction and full range of features, the Watson Linear Hack Squat has a considerably smaller footprint. This space-efficient design makes it ideal for maximising floor space in commercial gyms, PT studios, and home gyms — without compromising on range of motion, quality, or performance.
Another noticeable feature of this machine is the adjustable footplate. Like our
Adjustable Hack Squat, users can easily change the footplate angle to suit their size, length, ankle mobility, or training focus. This also allows you to shift the load from quads/hamstrings/glutes by simply adjusting your foot placement. This adjustability allows for more personalised and effective squat positions across a wide range of users.
For safety, we’ve kept our familiar adjustable safety pins on the frame, allowing users to set a bottom limit to the machine. These act as a fail-safes if the load cannot be re-racked, providing confidence during heavy sets and reducing the risk of injury — especially when training alone.
The handles are positioned in an easy to locate position, allowing you to focus fully on execution the perfect hack squat without distraction. The handle position comes in handy, especially if you have a current or previous shoulder injury or impingement.
The back pad on this machine is where it differs to any other hack squat we offer. Similar to our
45 degree calf raise, the Linear Hack Squat has an angled pad which sits on the lower part of your back - which massively reduces the load on your spine while squatting.
This machine is plate-loaded, with the pins being located near the rear of the machine for easy access. Keeping the loading zone behind the carriage, which maintains a clean footprint and reduces tripping hazards in a busy gym environment.
