Our best-selling multi-function bar: The Watson Football Bar. The Watson Thick Grip Ultimate Bar is an extremely versatile bar for all types of pressing, rows and tricep work. Also known as the Football Bar, our Thick Grip Ultimate Bar is built to handle a huge amount of weight and take years of heavy use. This version of our Thick Grip Ultimate Bar has 2'' thick grips to give an extra hard workout and really help build massive grip strength. The 50 mm (2'') handles are angled at 20° to reduce strain on wrists. These handles are spaced at 430 mm, 660 mm and 880 mm giving a huge range of training options. The Watson Thick Grip Ultimate Bar is an incredibly useful bar that you'll want to use constantly. I bought this bar several months ago to use after resuming training following a shoulder surgery early this year. The bar itself is of superb quality, weighing about 28.2 kg with the revolving sleeves added. The finish is solid and makes for a very secure grip on the bar. The angle of the handles has been great for all types of presses and triceps extensions, as well as curls and rows. The tapered center of the bar is an underrated feature, and it makes overhead presses and curls considerably more comfortable and effective when compared to using a standard swiss bar with a rectangular construction.
Overall, this bar is a vast upgrade in build quality and function compared to the other swiss bars I have used. I would highly recommend it. In terms of utility, it is probably the most useful bar any lifter could have besides a standard olympic barbell.

I built my own little gym in my garage a couple of years ago and have an online PT who gave me some exercises for a football bar. He pointed me towards Watson and I can honestly say I will not buy another brand of gym kit again! The build quality is ridiculous – I will break a long time before this bar does – and the revolving ends are a bit of engineering excellence! I was initially advised to start using this particular bar owing to a shoulder/shoulderblade impingement problem and the grips on the bar are at just the right angles to make this problem a thing of the past. Great job all round – and I’ll be back for more kit soon.

I bought it with extra revolving ends and it feels really smooth and easy on the wrists. Give you most bang for your back in that you can do a variety of upper body exercises, and all kind of presses with 6 possible grip choices. To me is the best bar to have, other than the regular one, to add variety to your upper body workout. Great product!!!

I’ve been extremely impressed with the fat grip ultimate bar since receiving it just over a month ago. The slight angling of the grips feels more natural than the standard football type bars and feels great on questionable rotator cuffs. The thick grip is awesome and adds a new dimension to every exercise. Build quality and finish are absolutely superb and almost seem to inspire confidence to try andlift more! Every step of the sales process from order to delivery was professional and impressive- I’ll definitely be coming back for more Watson equipment

I’ve been pleasantly surprised with this. The bar really meets what is advertised and given a new dimension to my workouts . Personally I have noticed that the wrists and shoulders do not suffer as in traditional bar and when you adapt to this type of gripsyou can lift more weight than traditional !! Also highlight its use in other exercises . Biceps , triceps , dorsal..etc .
In short: a bar highly recommended that will radically change the way you train .

Very versatile bar with the normal Watson quality. Really good for all the exercises mentioned above but for me the highlight is finding a bar that is outstanding for narrow grip bench presses. Using it more than i expected for bent over rows as well as it adds a real variation. Highly recommended.
