We’ll skip listing the potentially limitless amount of benefits of heavy compound movements that can be performed in a smith machine or a half rack, but the key to these exercises is being able to perform them with the correct technique and with complete safety. AKA, you want your kit to endure anything you throw at it. We always build our kit with this in mind.

The Watson Half Rack / Four Way Smith machine combines two popular machines. The Animal Half Rack & Plate Loaded Four Way Smith to create a compact rack with a free-moving or fixed smith.

The four-way smith machine works by operating on linear bearings to glide forwards and backward to create a more free-moving feeling when using it compared to a regular smith machine. This incredible machine can also be converted into a standard fixed smith machine by using the locking collars to stop the horizontal movement so you are only pressing vertically.

Having the Half Rack with Four Way Smith allows plenty of movement between the rack and the smith. You can slide the bar for the smith machine completely out of the way to be able to use the half rack with no obstructions.
